It was a very dull afternoon when I was flying my aircraft, quite suddenly the visibility began to deteriorate, a rapidly descending sky fog engulfing everything including my aircraft and I was very lucky to land and recover same .
While this drama was unfolding we were aware of the noise of a light a/c circling around quite low and obviously lost, this went on for at least 30 minutes and then stopped.
When we got home we heard on the news that Graham Hill (the racing driver) had been killed in an air crash apparently running out of fuel and unable to find an airfield because of the fog.So near and yet so far
Now that the website is up and running we can affiliate with the BMFA and members can pay for their insurance together. New flyers can have a couple of flights insured under the club if members are on site, without a permit.
